Terms of Service

Last updated 8 August 2026

These are the terms you agree to when you use IVIE. They explain what we provide, what we ask of you, how payment works, and where our responsibility ends.

1. The agreement

By creating an IVIE account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using IVIE on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorised to accept these Terms for it.

If you don't agree with something here, please don't use IVIE - and tell us why, because we'd rather fix it.

2. What IVIE provides

IVIE is a workspace for running a business - sales, money, customers, stock, projects and invoicing - together with guidance from Ivie on the whole of running it, from hiring and operations to pricing and branding, and a Marketplace where you can be found by customers, find vetted consultants, and post or find jobs.

We may add, change or remove features as the product develops. If we remove something you rely on, we'll give you reasonable notice.

3. Your account

You need an accurate email address and a password to use IVIE. Keep your password to yourself - you're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

You must be at least 18 years old to use IVIE.

4. Your data stays yours

Everything you put into IVIE - your sales, customers, books, products and conversations - remains yours. We claim no ownership over it. We process it to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings.

5. Plans and payment

Every plan includes every feature; plans differ only in monthly allowances. The Free plan is free indefinitely and is not a trial. Basic and Premium are paid in advance.

We do not store your card, and nothing renews automatically. A paid plan is a single payment through Paystack that gives you one month, and access begins once that payment is confirmed. We'll email you before it ends so you can renew if you want to; if you don't, your account simply returns to the Free plan.

When a plan ends or you switch to a lower one, nothing is deleted. Your records stay exactly where they are - only your monthly allowances change.

A transaction fee of 3.5% is added to the plan price at checkout and is shown to you before you pay, so the total is never a surprise.

Prices are in Naira and may change. A price change never affects a month you've already paid for, and we'll give notice before it applies to you.

6. Refunds

Because each payment buys a specific month of access, we don't generally refund a month that has started. If something went wrong on our side - you were charged twice, or the service was unavailable for a meaningful period - email us and we'll put it right.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • -Use IVIE for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive.
  • -Upload someone else's personal data without a lawful basis for doing so.
  • -Publish false, misleading or fraudulent listings in the Marketplace.
  • -Attempt to breach, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or access another user's account.
  • -Resell or redistribute IVIE without our written agreement.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll warn you first.

8. Guidance is not professional advice

Ivie advises across your whole business - money and sales, hiring and people, operations, process, pricing, branding, customer service and the judgement calls in between. That guidance is an informed starting point grounded in your own records, and it is general in nature.

This one matters, so it's in plain terms: Ivie is not a lawyer, an accountant, a licensed tax adviser or an employment-law specialist, and nothing it says is legal, tax, financial or investment advice. The limit is about regulated advice, not subject area - Ivie can discuss the business side of employment, operations or compliance, but not give you a position you can rely on in law.

For anything requiring professional judgement or carrying legal or financial consequence, consult a qualified professional. Ivie will tell you when it thinks you've reached that point, and can point you to a consultant in the Marketplace. Decisions you make remain yours.

9. The Marketplace

The Marketplace connects independent businesses, consultants and people looking for work. We review listings before they appear, but a verified badge means we checked the details submitted - it is not a guarantee of anyone's work, and we are not party to agreements you make with them.

Any contract, payment or dispute between you and someone you find on the Marketplace is between the two of you. Please tell us about bad actors so we can act.

10. Availability

We work to keep IVIE running and your data safe, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. There will be maintenance, and occasionally there will be faults. We'll tell you about planned downtime where we can.

11. Limits of our responsibility

IVIE is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or business decisions made on the basis of guidance from the service.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time from Settings. We may end this agreement if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if we stop offering the service - in which case we'll give you notice and time to export your data.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes fall to the Nigerian courts. We'd much rather resolve things by email first - write to hello@ivieapp.com.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as IVIE changes. For material changes we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use IVIE afterwards means you accept the updated Terms.
